How to Make a Ben 10 Cake
Want to make How to make a Ben 10 Cake?
When my son asked for a Ben 10 Cake for his 7th birthday last month, I gasped at the challenge ahead of me. But after checking out lots of designs which looked pretty complicated, I settled on something that my son actually designed himself.
We had the Ben 10 Figurines
at home to place on top. All we really had to do was bake the cake and decorate in a very basic way, as you can see.
Ingredients:
3 x standard cake recipe mixes (or triple our Butter Cake recipe)
2 cups Butter Cream icing (see Tip)
Licorice straps (ultimate omnitrix watch)
Green colouring for icing
Ben 10 figurines
Tip: As a personal preference, I use vegetable shortening (or copha) instead of butter from the Butter Cream Icing recipe. I find it has an easier consistency to work with and the colours come out brighter.

Directions:
Using our Butter Cake recipe bake a round cake. When cool, place it in the freezer until you're ready to decorate. This will make decorating the cake much easier without crumbs getting mixed up with the icing.
Now, when you're ready to decorate your masterpiece, use green coloured icing, to cover the whole cake.
Cut the licorice straps into the shape of Ben 10's ultimate omnitrix watch and place on the top of the cake. Place a couple of Ben 10 Figurines
on either side of the omnitrix.
I used a couple of lengths of black satin ribbon around the edge of the cake just to jazz it up a bit!
