Celery and Vegemite Rolls
Try these Celery and Vegemite Rolls - we had them at my daughter's 7th birthday party last month. They are a healthy alternative to serve at a birthday party and very easy to make. My daughter helped to make them - it was good to get her involved in the party preparations.
Ingredients:
Wholemeal bread (1 loaf, sliced)
Bunch of celery (cut into approx 3 inch long thin pieces)
Vegemite (or cream cheese)
Butter or margarine
Cut the crusts from all the pieces of bread in a wholemeal loaf.
Using a rolling pin, flatting out each slice of bread. Spread each slice firstly with a layer of butter (or margarine) then a layer of vegemite (or cream cheese). Place a piece of celery in each slice then roll.
You can put a toothpick in to keep them together if you like but I found that if the bread is fresh, it will stick together.
