Dinosaur Cake 2

Dinosaur Cake 2

Dinosaur Cake 2

I made this Dinosaur Cake for my son Oscar's third birthday.

I baked a round chocolate cake for the base and covered with chocolate buttercream icing.

To make the dinosaur, I coloured white fondant icing with yellow colouring and moulded the icing into a dinosaur shape. It was all one shape except for the legs which I mouled separately and attached.

For the dots on the dinosaur cake and the number '3' I tinted the fondant icing with blue colouring and mouled the shapes then stuck them on using a little water.

I painted the stripes on the head using brown coloured icing and the mouth with black coloured icing.

I used choc drops for the eyes.

The dinosaur was placed on a pre-made round fondant icing disc then placed on the round chocolate cake.
