Fremantle Dockers Cake

by Bonnie
(Atwell, Western Australia)

Go the Freo Dockers!!

Go the Freo Dockers!!

I decorated this Fremantle Dockers Cake with white icing as per instructions for butter icing, BUT, instead of butter I used vegetable shortening (it's white) I had to add a little milk (2tbs) and I also added a few drops of lemon juice.

I used Royal Icing for the colours, I had to use an entire bottle of the purple and red to get the desired colour. I crumb coated the cake with very thin layer of slightly watered down white icing and set in fridge. Then coated the entire cake with the white icing.

I traced around an image onto baking paper and then piped the outline with icing - set this in freezer. Once it was set I transfered the image onto the cake - just turned the paper over and pressed the image onto cake. From there I filled in the colour. Kids loved it and so did the very special Dockers guest.

Go the Dockers!
by: Mary-Lou

With the Dockers playing in the finals this weekend I may just be making this cake to either celebrate or commiserate.

Great Cake - Thanks Bonnie!
