Golf Cake

Golf Cake

Golf Cake

I made this Golf Cake by baking a fruit cake in a square pan.

Before I iced the cake, I cut a small hole in the corner of the cake - for the golf ball - which was a white chocolate ball. (The hole didn't go all the way through the cake - just a couple of inches).

For the icing, I used a piping bag filled with green food colouring and a small star-size nozzle. I piped small 'dots' all over the the top of the cake to give it that 'grassed' look.

I made a flag pole using a plastic straw and some fabric taped on for the flag.

For the last effect, I placed the cake on a shovel (clean of course) for presentation.

That's awesome. I'll use that idea for my dad's 60th.
