Guitar Hero Cake

by Denise Dowsing
(Kent)

YOU ROCK!!!

YOU ROCK!!!

To make this Guitar Cake I shaped my normal sponge cake into the shape of the guitar, then covered it in butter icing. I then rolled out a large peice of white fondant and covered the large part, then cut around the edges to make it neat. Then I did the same with black icing on the long part.

I measured a piece of black icing to go down the long part of the cake and over some of the white. I then use a knife to make ridges.

For the buttons I cut out small rectangles of each colour.

I used small rolled balls of black icing for detail on the end of the guitar.

For the other detail I shaped more black icing.

For the silver part, I bent a silver birthday candle over heat so that it bent up and over, and rounded off the end with black icing, and pierced the other end into a ball of black icing on the cake.

I used a large domino to make the indentation where the black buttons are.

Finally, I made the strap with left over black icing, and used blue piping for name etc.

Hope you like it! Thanks 4 looking :)
