Hawaiian Lei Party

My 10 year old daughter had a Hawaiian Lei Party this year for her birthday.
The invitation was a lei made with cardboard 5 different colored flowers on a piece of pink thick cord. On each flower we printed the details of the party.
For table decorations we covered one main table with a blue plastic tablecloth and scattered seashells around. We had plastic straws in each cup with a little string attached to a gummy fish (to resemble a fishing pole).
We made a Hawaiian Lei cake using cupcakes. We decorated the cupcakes with candies so that they looked like flowers - using lifesavers. We laid the cupcakes out on a large cake board in a circle shape and joined them together using red licorice strips with a couple of green mint leaves around the cupcakes.
For our party favors we made fish out of colored paper plates with an opening for the fish mouth. Inside the party favors we had paper umbrellas, hairclips, and fish candy.
We played lots of games but the most popular was the Hawaiian Lei Game. This is how it went:
Everyone stood in a circle with the birthday girl in the middle. The guests walked around the birthday girl in a circle (to music) each holding a lei (store bought). When the music stopped everyone had to toss a lei over the birthday girl's head. Whoever missed had to drop out of the game.
