Horse Cake

Horse Cake

Horse Cake

I baked this Horse Cake for my daughter's birthday - as she loves horses!

I baked two 9"x13" plain vanilla cakes for this horse. One was used for the main head shape and the other I cut into shapes for the nose and mouth.

I stuck these together using buttercream icing.

I used fondant icing to cover the Horse Cake - the main part I tinted with brown food colouring and used a fork to scrape down for texture.

The ear, eyes, nose and lips, straps and mane were made by rolled fondant icing and tinted with food colouring.

I used film cannisters to get the round shape of the silver buckles on the rein and painted them silver.
