Joint Birthday Party

by Jessica
(Dallas)

I have two sons - 6 and 8 years old. Their birthdays are only 2 weeks apart and I wanted to simplify things this year by having one big party (less work!).

Should I put both names on the invitations i.e. "A joint party for Dylan and Jacob" or just their individual names to their classmates?

How do I stipulate that only one gift needs to be bought, not two?

Would appreciate some advice.

Thanks.

Just put Jacob on his invite and give it to his friends and do the same with your other son.

Then you won't need to write anything at all about gifts - this could just cause confusion.

Jessica - There are two options:

You could put Jacob's name on the invitations going to his friends and the same deal for Dylan.

The other option is to write both names on the invitations and add a footnote saying "Please only give a gift for Jacob (or Dylan - depending on who the invitation is going to).

Regards
