Madeline Cake

by Vanya

Madeline Cake

Madeline Cake

I made this Madeline Cake for my daughter's 5th birthday.

I baked a round chocolate cake and covered with chocolate buttercream icing. I stuck chocolate freckles around the sides of the cake.

I pre-made a white fondant icing disc a few days earlier and decorated this by using a picture of Madeline and tracing onto the icing disc using lunchwrap paper. I then coloured in Madeline using non-toxic textas.

I used non-toxic textas to draw 'Happy Birthday' and the number 5.

I sprinkled a few silver cachous around the number 5.

I kept the icing disc as a keepsake (I keep all my kids' icing dscs from their cakes).
