Moving Monster Golf Cake

Ryan Elizabeth's 5 yr. moving monster mini-golf course cake

My daughter decided when she turned 5 she "REALLY" wanted to have her party at the local indoor miniature golf course that has a Monster Theme. So, I made her a monster mini-golf cake, oh yeah, and she wanted it to move.

I made the usual rectangle chocolate cake, covered it with white mock frosting, put some golf ball decorations around the border.

I then used gel to make the green golf pathways, blue for the little river and candy rocks for the river bed and pathway borders.

I bought little golfer decorations and also used those green pathways. I set up the little golf men, then bought some cheap Halloween toys like a Frankenstein Cookie, green haired monster with eyes that glow, skull that flashes lights, etc. and sat them around the golf course at the end of each pathway (like in miniature golf).

I then took modelling clay and built the three- headed monster (in the back LT corner)then molded black clay around a Cinderella electric lollipop holder. I made sure to attach the clay monster heads securely to the Cinderella "hands" and when it was turned on the 3 headed dog-monster moved side to side. Then made the little bridge out of modeling clay, added a few little clay people to the front to look like they were waiting in line, and it was done.

When all of the little items were turned on and the lights were out it was SO Great! She absolutely loved it, so did the rest of the group. Then I gave her her personal cake that was a large golf ball with her candle on it.

It was great but I am not up for making another "moving cake" anytime soon.
