Mr Bump cake

by D. Ricketts
(Victoria, Australia)

I made a rectangular vanilla cake. I then printed a picture of Mr Bump on tracing paper and pinned it to the cake with tooth picks. I iced the background in pale orange, took off the tracing paper and iced the entire Mr Bump in blue icing. The "bandages" are made out of melted white chocolate (made to scale on tracing paper prior to it going on the cake), the outlines and the mouth are black licorice and the eyes and tongue are made from jelly beans cut in half and placed flat side down. Fun to make but very messy and the white chocolate was very easy to break.
