Pirate Treasure Chest Cake 2

by Marlene Witter

Pirate Treasure Chest Cake 2

Pirate Treasure Chest Cake 2

To make this Pirate Treasure Chest Cake, I baked the cake in the oven roasting pan, cut it in half and decorated it with all sorts of candy jewellery and biscuits ... whatever tickled my fancy on the sweety counter.

At the party we went on a treasure hunt, having to 'find the treasure chest', which included a wheelbarrow ride for all, finding next clues in different places in the garden leading to the next clue ... until they found the birthday treasure chest cake. (To do this I started with the position of the cake, made a note that gave a clue of where it is, then made another note pointing where the 2nd last clue is, etc ... until I ran out of ideas)

I also included 1 "treasure map" that I gave the kids when all arrived that showed a layout of the house and garden to illustrate where certain trees or specific flower beds are ... to help them along in their search!

Great fun!
