Sewing Cake
I made this Sewing Cake by baking a square vanilla cake.
I covered the cake using white fondant icing and decorated around the bottom edges with piped icing.
All the features on the top of the cake were made using fondant icing, rolled and tinted with food colouring.
The needle was even made using rolled icing. (I made a few of these for spares and didn't insert them until we were at the party).
The cotton around the cotton reels was rolled flat icing and I used a fork to lightly scrape along to represent cotton.
I used non-toxic texta to paint the thimble (rolled icing as well).
