Spiderman Cake

by Mandy Carlton
(Hallsville,Texas)

Spiderman Cake

Spiderman Cake

This Spderman Cake is made with 4 9" round cakes.

Stack 3 of the cakes together. Cut the last round cake in quarters. Put 2 of the quarters together round side up and stick them to the sides for the shoulders. Then, cover all with icing and let chill.

While that is chilling, make the head. I made the head out of rice krispie treat. I just made them and formed them into a head shape and put it on a skewer. let it dry. Then I covered the cake and head with fondant. Then I just drew all the webs and the eyes. It turned out really good.

Rice Krispie Treat Recipe
by: Mary-Lou

You can get Rice Krispies in most supermarkets in the US.

I've never seen them in Australia (that doesn't mean they don't exist here) but here's a recipe for them:

Ingredients:

  • 50 mL (1/4) cup margarine or butter
  • 250 g (1 pkg)(about 40) regular marshmallows
  • 2 mL (1/2 tsp) vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1.5 L (6 cups)RICE KRISPIES* cereal

Preparation

  • Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

  • Stir in vanilla. Stir in KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES or KELLOGGS RICE BUBBLES cereal (Aust) until well coated. Using lightly buttered spatula, press into buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9") pan.

  • Allow mixture to cool. Cut into bars. Best if served same day.

NOTES / HINTS
For chewier bars, use an extra cup of miniature marshmallows or about 8 regular marshmallows.

using a skewer I think
by: Anonymous

I think the head was molded with the rice krispie treats then a skewer was placed in the middle as well as through the centre of the 'shoulder' cakes to keep it in place.
