Thomas the Tank Engine Cake

Thomas the Tank Engine Cake

Thomas the Tank Engine Cake

I made this Thomas the Tank Engine Cake for my son's 2nd birthday.

I baked a chocolate cake using a round cake tin.

I decorated the cake using chocolate buttercream icing and stuck chocolate freckles around the sides of the cake.

I used a pre-made white fondant icing disc that I made a few days earlier so it had set nice and hard.

I used a picture of Thomas the tank engine and using lunchwrap paper, traced the picture onto the white icing disc. I then used non-toxic textas to colour in Thomas.

I used icing tubes for the writing on the cake.

(I still have all the icing discs from my kids' birthday cakes - as keepsakes).
