Thunderbirds Spaceship Cake

I made this Thunderbirds Spaceship Cake for my son's 4th birthday.

I baked a chocolate cake using a cylindrical shaped cake tin.

I covered the cake with white buttercream icing and used chocolate finger bisuits, smarties and silver cachous to decorate.

I then placed the cake on two alfoil covered cardboard pieces that I had cut grooves in and pieced together.

This seemed a bit tricky at first but the cake was actually very stable.
